Take a sharp close-up of the scratch, scuff or paint chip. Try another angle if reflections hide the mark. Keep filters off so we can see the condition of the finish clearly.
Step back for the context.
Photograph the whole affected panel or bumper. If the mark runs over a panel edge, include both sides. Take a separate set of pictures for every damaged area.
Add the details that photos cannot show.
Include your vehicle make and model, the repair postcode and any other damage you have noticed. Tell us whether the vehicle would be at home or work for a visit.
